Synopsis:
After learning the truth about what Chloe did to Jamie, Don’s entire world has been thrown into crisis and now he’s realizing: is he to blame for all of it?
Excerpt:
His thoughts raced as he tried to wrap his head around everything Caiden told him. Chloe was a bit crazy but she wasn’t Summer crazy…was she?! Maybe this was all just a misunderstanding? Maybe Jamie was having a barbecue. Barbecue fires do happen all the time. Any cooking fire does, really. I’ve been set on fire many times from the stove! Maybe Caiden is just trying to find someone to blame? Or maybe they made it all up to get rid of Chloe.
Don looked down at the table and spotted Chloe’s crystal ball. He pressed his fingers against it, slowly caressing the top.
Magic crystal ball. Just give me the answer. “Seriously. Do you work like a future cube? Or can you show me what happened?” he spoke out loud.
He picked it up and gazed into it. “Show me the truth!” As he stared into it, the colors all stayed still. The fog didn’t move an inch. “Come on! Show me what Chloe did to Jamie!” he yelled as he shook it.
“Arghhh!” Don screamed as he threw it against the black widow mirror. Shards of glass fell down around his feet.
