Synopsis: Hakim and Malcolm conspire on their next plan for the Scott family.

Excerpt:

Malcolm paced back and forth in his office. His jaw was flexing up and down as he fumed. He spent his lifetime being groomed for the future role of mob boss leader, but now that his future had become his present, he found it far more challenging than he had imagined.

As he heard a knock on the door, he scrunched up his face, annoyed. “Who is it?” He balked.

“It’s Hakim, sir.”

“Come in,” Malcolm said as he made his way over to his mahogany desk. He brushed his hands across the top as he gently sat himself down on the leather chair.

Hakim sheepishly entered the room and closed the door behind him.

“What is it?” Malcolm huffed.

“I wanted to discuss Carl’s report with you.”

Malcolm grimaced. “Was it your idea to send the muscle to do the investigation work? You know he’s only the brawn, not the brains.”

Hakim shook his head, embarrassed. “I thought he would be able to intimate them. I never thought he’d spend eighty percent of his time stalking the puppy. As if Stinkpup is a puppy by day and a super puppy by night,” Hakim rolled his eyes. “Next thing we know, Big Carl will be submitting hand drawn pictures of Stinkpup wearing a cape as evidence,” he laughed, trying to lighten the mood.

Malcolm smacked his hands on his desk. “Do you know how much money our operation has lost because of this ridiculous investment of yours?”

Hakim shifted as Malcolm stared at him with a cold hard look jetting from his eyes.
