Excerpt:

Don’s lifeless body laid across the floor as the family watched in tears. Or some of them anyways. Travis was still ecstatically cheering while Hannah tried to tell him how inappropriate it was.

Even though she undoubtedly wished she could do the same. Don after all had caused her plenty of misery throughout her lifetime. The fact he became “the other in-law” constantly felt like a sick joke to them. As Hannah nudged Travis, she felt a smile creep across her face. She tried her best to hide it but Travis knew his wife well enough to know: they were absolutely on the same page.

As they continued to watch, with their various reactions, Don felt a sensation rush through him. Suddenly, he found himself floating upwards out of his body.

Don frowned. “Why would you say that? You know there’s no way —“

Summer looked at Don and then back at Travis. “You always wanted to be like him, didn’t you? That’s why it tickles you so much that every woman you’ve been with wanted Travis more.”

“You’re fucking delusional, Summer. Nina and Dina never wanted Travis, so HAH,” he smirked. “And Chloe… may she rest in peace. You’re just bitter in this afterlife because if you had stopped your obsession with Travis, you might still be alive.”

“Oh Donnie. We’re not in the afterlife. My spirit is long gone into the Netherworld. As yours will be.”

Don shuttered. Is this really all that his life has led to? He won’t even have a second chance as a ghost to become a better man?
