Don has been through quite a metamorphosis over the seasons. He began as the series main villain but after spending time in Summer’s basement, he softened, leading him to the man he is now. He’s wrestled back and forth with his love of himself vs. his love of his daughters, in particular, Jamie. On multiple occasions, he’s thought about stepping up, only to be lured all too easily by the hope of woohoo and prioritizing his own wants. However, in today’s chapter, he finally, truly had to choose. There was no more wishy-washy “maybe I can have my cake and eat it too”.

While Caiden is a hero and couldn’t bare to take another sim’s life knowingly, Don has always had a villainous side, as evident in the first three seasons of the series. While he has become far more lovable since then, it’s that side of him that allowed him to take this final step with Chloe. He doesn’t have the same qualms. For once his decision wasn’t even about himself. He didn’t contemplate how this choice could change him. It didn’t even cross his mind. In the end, he finally made a decision that wasn’t remotely about him.

Don autonomously plopped down in the snow to make snow angels. The man had NO regrets apparently.
