Chloe glanced up at the clock on the wall. It was almost time, she thought as she listened to it tick. Don was falling asleep much quicker these days after their woohoo, giving her plenty of time to scheme at any time of the day.
She stirred in the bedsheets as she waited for Don to let out his first snore of the evening.
Like clockwork, he let out a loud rumble.
He sounds like a horse, Chloe thought with a roll of her eyes. He is lucky I still sleep with him with noises like that. Chloe perched herself up in bed and opened her nightstand.
Inside the gold plated drawer sat a book.
