Synopsis:
As Jarrett pursues his new career path, Tomi finds herself overcompensating with her own work life.
As the lightning bolts zapped through her body, Tomi’s life flashed before her eyes. Suddenly, all she could think about was that morning.
Tomi sat on the bed brushing her hair. As she combed through her dark brown locks, she heard Jarrett chatting happily away with Cheesy downstairs.
“My tasty balls are going to make us billionaires, my son!” Jarrett squealed. “Just taste this one! It’s perfect!”
Tomi winced. She loved Jarrett’s balls more than anything but she couldn’t help but worry about their entire future relying on every one else being just as enamored with them.
Tomi placed her brush down on the bedside table and slipped on her shoes. Now that Jarrett had quit his job as an engineer, she could feel the pressure building inside of her to make her teaching career a success.
As she checked the clock, she sighed. She had an hour before work and no time to practice her research and debate skills, let alone grade the homework in her teacher’s portfolio.
It felt so easy at the time to become a teacher without a university diploma. For a while, it felt like the promotions were coming almost daily. Suddenly though, time became fleeting and the days passed without any real chance to work towards her next promotion.
