Download from The Sims 4 Gallery

Download my lot, Cherish’s Teen Boot Camp, from The Sims 4 Gallery under my Gallery ID: SimLifeChronicle. The download for some reason says this lot requires Snowy Escape, but it does not. I’ve checked every object and nothing on the lot is from that pack.

The lot includes the bush from Get Together. You can either keep the bush, or for an extra challenge, delete it! Sims can pee in the ocean.

Alternatively, if you don’t want to download my lot, you can make your own boot camp with the list of requirements above.

Place the lot on the island off the coast of Mua Pel’am in Sulani.

Getting Your Teen Sim Ready for The Teen Boot Camp Sims 4 Challenge

Your teen sim is allowed to bring objects to the island that are in their inventory. I personally like to have their parents gift them a few items before boot camp begins.

Some items I suggest are:

  • Yoga Mat (if you have Spa Day)
  • Meditation Cushion (if you have Spa Day)
  • Art Easel
  • A portable chair
  • A portable table
  • Guitar
  • Knitting basket (if you have Nifty Knitting)

Anything your sim can place in their inventory is fair game to bring along! Of course, sometimes your teen may end up selling it to replace their tent after it’s struck by lightning…but do we really need to worry about that right now? Nah!

Should the lot be set as a residential lot or a rental?

The choice is yours! You can move your teen sim out of the house to the residential lot for a week and then move them back. This will keep the off-the-grid lot trait.

However, you are also free to rent the island for a week and send your teen sim that way. I won’t judge! Whichever works best for your gameplay. You do you!

High maintenance sims are an extra challenge when doing the Teen Boot Camp Sims 4 Challenge.

My Teenage Sim is Anxious About How They’ll Survive this Sims 4 Challenge. Please Ease Their Worries!

Your teenage sim is going to have a blast on the island. I swear. Mostly. There may be one or two that can’t stand island living, but what are you going to do? You sent them to this Boot Camp for a reason, right?

What will they eat on the island?

For food, your sim must forage for vegetables, fruits, and herbs. There are three planters placed on the lot to aid your sim as they learn to garden.

The ocean is also full of delicious fish for your sim to capture. Fishing is an excellent source of fun too! There are a few small fish bowls by the supply cabinets on the island so you can keep a few meals of extra fish fresh!

Outdoorsy sims love The Sims 4 Teen Boot Camp Challenge!

How will they take care of their basic needs?

If your sim needs a shower, they can head out for a swim to the waterfall across from the island. Or, alternatively, take advantage of the rain when a monsoon comes through town. Showering in the rain can be invigorating!

As for peeing, they have two options: pee in the bush, or send them into the ocean when their bladder is very full – they will pee in the ocean!

When it’s time to go to sleep, they can sleep in a tent. Your sim can use the tents provided on the island, or if they have a nicer one in their inventory, they’re welcome to use that too. Just beware of the occasional lightning strike and all should be fine! I swear…

How will my sim have fun?

There are plenty of ways to keep your sim happy on the island! Unless your sim is high maintenance and hates the outdoors… but again, maybe they just need a little character building, right?!?

Your sims can enjoy searching for seashells, building sandcastles, swimming in the ocean, fishing, and gardening! If your sim brought along an art easel, knitting basket and chair, guitar, etc, they can also find some joy that way! You cannot bring any laptops though to the island! There is no internet service here!

If you have Spa Day, I highly recommend bringing a yoga mat or meditation stool! Especially if your sim isn’t the outdoorsy type…this may just keep them calm and from combusting (I’m looking at you high maintenance sims) during this week in the wild.

Teenage sims can find ways to relax and pass the time during The Sims 4 Teen Boot Camp Challenge.

How long should my sim stay on the island?

I like keeping them there a minimum of one week on long lifespan. You can keep them there longer, or shorter, but that is wholeheartedly my recommendation to get the most out of the experience!

I have personally had sims who have LOVED their time on the island, and sims who absolutely hated every second. My outdoorsy sims thought fishing and sleeping in the tent was fun. They also found peeing in the ocean refreshing. My high maintenance sim did yoga all the time to keep herself from combusting because she hated the island so much. She thought peeing in the ocean was gross and she loathed fishing just to eat. She even caught herself on fire a couple of times when making a fire, and her tent got struck by lightning!

When you find yourself getting bored with your game, this is a great Sims 4 challenge to really shake things up! Give it a try and then come back here and share your stories below!
