Sim Life Chronicles was created by Justine Thomas and began in 2022 as a funny short story shared in a Sims 4 Facebook Group about a sim named Hannah McCoy. As the fan base quickly grew, so did the world of stories including multiple original series, companion books, merch, custom content, and more.
Letter from the Creator
Back in 2000, I was in third grade and struggling to learn math. As an artist from the day I was born, math was never one of my priorities! To ensure I learned this basic skill, my parents bribed me with a computer game of my choice if I learned my math facts. After learning them, my mom took me to EB Games in Colorado. Full of excitement, I searched the store for the perfect game. Suddenly, a salesman approached me. He reached for the top shelf and showed me a brand new game that just arrived: The Sims. From there, my world expanded as I spent the next 24+ years playing every variation of the game! From creating outfits from the movie “My Cousin Vinny” for my Sims 1 characters, editing Sims 2 Music Videos to Kelly Clarkson songs, and eventually texting my sister pictures of my first Sims 4 legacy family with funny captions, I have always loved using this game to create.
In 2022, after taking every precaution possible, I unfortunately contracted Covid-19. Left with three months of laryngitis, I was stuck at home unable to speak to anyone around me. I needed somewhere to express my voice. I stumbled upon The Sims 4 group on Facebook and fell in love with the fun community and posts about other people’s sims. Soon enough, I decided to share the wild journey of my sim Hannah in what I expected to be a one off story. Before I knew it, the post had blown up to over 500 reactions and numerous comments asking for more.
Now, as a stay-at-home mom, I spend my days taking care of my children and squeezing in the time to work on my stories. This often means waking up at 4am just to find time to write before my kids wake up and spending every one of my toddler’s naps working on posts and the website. I never imagined myself as a writer and I am so grateful to have found such an amazing and supportive fan base to take this journey with me.
As a creative individual who never thought my creations would be anything more than mine, I just want to say, thank you for making them ours. There’s nothing I love more than getting to share them all with you!
