Companion to Season 14, Chapter 281
Just as Harvestfest at the Scott house begins, Tomi receives devastating and bizarre news about her parents.

It was 4pm in the afternoon as everyone arrived at the Scott house to celebrate Harvestfest. The guests could hear the pitter patter of rain as it began to drizzle outside. Tomi leaned over and whispered into Jarrett’s ear. “Your mom did a beautiful job decorating. I really love just how much detail she’s put into everything!”
Jarrett smiled and kissed her on the cheek. “Mom has always loved decorating for the seasons! She’s all about traditions. I don’t think we’ve ever missed a holiday, come to think of it!”
Just then, they heard Hannah scream. As they whirled their heads around, they saw everyone staring at the top of the stairwell. Chloe was standing on the top step, completely in the blur. “Let the party begin!” she said as the blur bobbed up and down. Hannah covered her eyes and walked briskly over to Caiden. “You need to talk to your future father-in-law. If our families are going to coexist, there has to be some ground rules. Mainly, no naked bimbos walking around my house.”
Caiden pressed his teeth tightly together as he glanced at Chloe and winced. “I’m so sorry mom. I’ll deal with this.”
“Good. Because I made this lovely meal and Jarrett made his cheesy eyeballs again. I expect everyone to eat tonight,” she glared at Chloe. “Not lose their appetite before I can even call them to the meal.”
As Hannah wandered off to the kitchen to grab more food, Caiden walked over to Jarrett. “Hey man. Can you help me out? We need to get Chloe back into her clothes before mom has a total meltdown.”
Jarrett shook his head. “Always here to help,” he said as he smiled at Caiden. As his chair scooted backwards, Tomi felt her phone vibrate. She fiddled with her pocket as she pulled it out. It was her mom.
Tomi sighed as she considered whether or not to answer it. Everything was so weird with her parents now that she knew how they both had been treating Jarrett. Lucia had called last night to ask her to visit for Harvestfest but Tomi still wasn’t sure if they should stop by…
