Season 5, Episode 17, Chapter 78

Back for another day at Sunnycreek High, it was time for Mission: Prom Date! Jarrett was determined with his new look to find someone to take to the next prom.
Evie Delgato threw up her hand as Jarrett tried to talk to her. The other cheerleader blocked him off from Evie with a t-pose.
“I’m so not interested. My dad said any kid of Hannah’s is bad news.”
“I’m not actually her kid. She adopted me…oy!” He said, with a facepalm. Why was Hannah ruining his game?
When he arrived at class, Evie and her friend were at his table.
“Looks like you do like me just a little bit… you wanted to be my lab partner!” He said with a smile.
This guy needs to get his butt kicked, Ignacio thought with a glare.
“Ummm no. We took your seat. Clearly I don’t want you as my lab partner. Or my anything partner,” she said with a glare.
“Oh. Okay… hey can I ask you a quick question after class?”
Even though she was sending all the wrong signals, Jarrett thought he’d take one more chance.
“Look Evie, I know we got off on the wrong foot. But I like you…” Jarrett said as Evie smiled awkwardly.
As Evie stood up to leave, Jarrett jumped in front of her.
“Will you go to prom with me?” He said as he got down on one knee.
“No!!” She said blatantly.
“Put that sign away… you’re embarrassing me,” she said.
Jarrett was devastated. Where did he go wrong?
Before his next class, he decided to give himself an energy boost and work out…in the library. What an odd place for a punching bag, he thought.
When he arrived for his next class, he sat next to Ignacio. “Is that towel part of your world domination plan?” He said with a snark. “Move or you’ll find out!” Ignacio said with an evil smile.
Jarrett sat down next to the other cheerleader.
She pulled out her phone quickly to avoid talking to Jarrett. High school sucks, he thought.
After school, he headed to the field for football tryouts! Maybe this would make him popular, he hoped.
“I’m here to do that ball thing!” He said. Football was so new to the world, he forgot what it was called.
“You mean football? Great! Go hit the field with a fellow rookie and show us what you’ve got!”
“Catch man!” The guy threw the football at Jarrett and Jarrett ducked.
“I did it! I didn’t let it hit me!” He said as he got up. Maybe football was like dodgeball?
He did a celebratory dance thinking he was good at football while the player threw another ball.
“Ow!” He exclaimed as the ball hit him in the head.
“Dude, I thought you were going to catch it,” the other player said in shock.
Jarrett left confused…both from the head injury and just in general as he pondered how to fit in best at school.
