Season 5, Episode 10, Chapter 71
Down in the basement, Don woke up from his nap to see Caiden there. Is that the biter?!? He thought to himself in terror.
Great, it’s that guy. I hate that guy, Caiden thought with a glare.
Caiden walked over to Don.
“Hi kid. Is Summer making a fight club now?” Don asked.
“As long as you stay away from me, no. There won’t be a fight. But don’t think I can’t take you.” Caiden said pushing him back.
“And put on some clothes dude, it’s just creepy that you’re talking to me in your underwear.”
“The ONLY clothes I have are your dad’s. And that’s creepier.”
“Okay. That’s fair. What’s with your hair though?” Caiden said mockingly.
“Oh you know, I was in the mood for some bright blonde locks,” Don said sarcastically.
Caiden stared at him.
“No, seriously, Summer made me into her living Travis Doll. You think I want to look like your Daddy?”
“I mean, you’re pretty obsessed with him. I wouldn’t be surprised to be honest.”
“I’m not obsessed with him,” Don said defensively.
“Just jealous then?”
“Look Biter, I know you’re a viscous little dude so I’m going to refrain from kicking your butt,” Don said, “but we both know I’d win.”
“Whatever helps you sleep at night,” Caiden said as he exposed his teeth.
“But seriously, how do we get out of here?” Caiden said to Don hoping for an answer.
“We could throw baseballs at the door and try to break the glass!” Don said.
“Or throw them up and try to smash a hole through the ceiling!”
“Up there? You think a baseball is going to break the ceiling? Maybe one bounced off already and hit you in the head,” Caiden said unimpressed.
“You have got to be one of the dumbest adults I’ve ever met,” Caiden said with a laugh.
Don looked at him. Maybe it’s because I’ve been trapped alone for so long, but this kid’s witty banter is kind of endearing, he thought.
“We could throw banana peels on the floor so Summer slips when she walks in and leaves the door opened?”
“Biter, that door is locked in some special way that we can’t leave no matter what. Better settle in. We’re going to be here a while,” Don said.
As the night went on, Caiden pulled out his homework. I might as well finish this while I’m down here, he thought.
He then pulled out his soccer ball and started to play.
Maybe I can kick it at the door and knock it down? He thought.
As he played, Don woke up from his nap.
I may hate Hannah and Travis, he thought, but Summer kidnapping their kid is too far. I have to get him out of here.
