“Summer — that was the first week of college…we were two dumb kids and had too much nectar that night. We were friends. We were confused. And to be truthfully honest, it was before you went coo-coo bananas,” he paused. “And you’re rewriting history. I never once said I wanted to live in the countryside. I never confessed any of my dreams to you that night. It was one night, and it meant absolutely nothing. I shouldn’t have to remind you but we BOTH agreed that night was a mistake.”
“No, you decided it was a mistake. I knew I loved you from that moment,” Summer said, her eyes filling with tears. “Summer, you really need to leave,” Travis said waving his hand. Jarrett walked into the room but the second he saw Summer he turned around and left quickly.
“I’ll never leave you, Travis, my love,” Summer said. Travis took a deep breath as Hannah started to yell in the background.
“Summer, GET OUT,” Travis said. He was done. Hannah was fuming.
Summer walked over to Don. “Don, my dear boyfriend, I think it’s time we left.”
“Didn’t you just say —“
“I did… I did. But I was hoping we could put all that behind us. You could be my Travis,” Summer said with puppy dog eyes.
“I ain’t nobody’s Travis, girl. Get a life,” Don said.
“You’ve got a fricken Travis shrine at your house. It’s weird man.”
Summer was furious now. How dare he called her shrine weird.
“Weird?!? WEIRD?! I’m paying tribute to the love of my life. The father of my future children.“
“The only thing weird here is you Don. You do not understand how deep my love is.”
Don smiled nervously in terror.
“Hey Summer, what’s that?”
“It’s the door and it says this ain’t your house! BOO!” Don said. Summer was scared. What did he mean this wasn’t her house?!
“No! Don’t say such awful, horrible, untrue things Don.“
“This is my house. This WILL be my house. Just you wait and see.”
Suddenly Summer received some exciting news! She and Don had conceived a baby! She knew her future family would begin in Travis’ house. Don was wrong! She thought.
After Don and Summer finally left, Travis and Hannah sat down on the couch to discuss what Summer had said.
Casey walked by, eavesdropping.
Hannah stared at Travis in disbelief, trying to stay calm about the fact he never told her he had once upon a time woohoo’d with Summer. She wouldn’t say anything though until Casey left the room.
“I just don’t understand why you never told me,” said Hannah. “I didn’t think you were ever into her.”
“Hannah, Summer and I had been friends since high school. When we started college, we were both really uncertain about our futures and one night, we went to a party and had a little too much nectar. The next day, I knew it was a mistake and I told Summer we were better off as friends. She agreed…we never spoke about it again.”
“I promise you, I’m not into Summer. I’ve never had romantic feelings for Summer. That night was more about our insecurities than any romantic feelings. At least it was for me.”
“I’m so sorry I never told you but honestly, I met you long after college and by then, Summer and I, or at least I thought, had put that night far behind us. I just didn’t think it was ever worth mentioning. It meant nothing.”
Even though Hannah knew she could trust Travis, this news triggered her fear of being cheated on. She knew in her heart it wasn’t the same thing as her past relationships but she couldn’t help but feel lied to.
As they sat down for dinner outside, Hannah told Travis how she felt. “I know it was a long time ago, but you not telling me just reminded me of all the secrets every man I ever dated kept from me.”
“Hannah, I understand,” Travis nodded, listening as she continued to talk.
“I love you Travis…and I do trust you. I just—“ she paused.
“I needed to get these feelings off my chest so I could move on.”
“Hannah, I will always listen to you vent. It’s okay. I understand and I should’ve told you— I think we all just need some time away from all of this craziness. Don and Summer are always showing up and we need some family time.” Hannah agreed. It was time for a vacation!
Hannah pulled out her phone. It may have been summer vacation but there was no reason they couldn’t travel to Mt. Komorebi for some winter fun! Will the family finally get a chance to just unwind and enjoy some time together without interference? Keep following Sim Life Chronicles to find out.
