Travis threw on his Hawaiian shirt and headed to Don’s house before casual Friday at work.
He walked inside and interrupted Don’s sports game playing on the TV. “Hey Don…so I just wanted to say that while it was very wrong of you to enter our house, I should never have fought you like that.” As he sat there staring at Don trying to apologize, he realized it was impossible to apologize to this guy. “I should’ve just thrown you out. I am strong enough to do that after all,” Travis said.
“Oh, you think you hurt me or something?” huffed Don.
“Don, I really didn’t know I was that much stronger and more muscular than you. But it happens…I guess I’ve just clocked more time at the gym,” Travis said, earnestly holding his hands over his heart.
“I let you win, man.”
“Head still hurts a little bit there, Don?” Travis said, trying to hold back his smile. He was still pretty proud of himself.
“It doesn’t hurt!” Don said gritting his teeth. “Your presence is just giving me a headache.”
“Okay well, I’ve apologized and I guess I should get going now to my job,” Travis said pulling out his phone. “Oh sure! Throw your fancy computer job in my face! My computer doesn’t even work. Computers are stupid!” Don said angrily.
“Okay… well on that weird note…my ride will be here soon.”
“And just so we’re clear, I still don’t like you. I just don’t believe fighting is the right answer. We’re grown men after all,” Travis said.
“I could kick your butt any day of the week!” Don said. “Good talk, Don,” Travis said peering over his glasses.
“You’re just too scared to fight me again. You know I’ll win next time.”
“Sure, Don. Sure…” Travis said mockingly.
“You know what, I don’t have to take this. Not in my own house!”
“Oh, do you find my presence in your own home a bit imposing?“ Travis said gleefully while looking at his phone. “It’s no fun when people just barge into your home and refuse to leave, is it?” “You’ve ruined the game for me too…” Don huffed.
“Why are you still here?” Don glared. “I mean, I was waiting for my ride,” Travis said. “But honestly, it’s kind of fun to annoy you. Way more fun than fighting.“
Don pulled out his violin to try and annoy Travis. “What are you doing man? You’re a violinist now?” Travis said.
Don was far more into it than Travis expected.
“This is super weird Don…” Travis said.
Travis stared up at Don as Don passionately played.
“That’s actually really good music, man. You should do this as a job. Maybe you could actually make a buck or two,” Travis said.
Frustrated that he didn’t irritate Travis enough, Don put down the violin.
“Don’t mock me!” He said.
“You can see yourself out. I have to go fix my computer…” Don said as he walked off.
Travis still had about ten minutes to kill before work, so he decided to follow Don upstairs.
And then he decided autonomously to mentor him with the computer.
“I know I hate you, but your computer shouldn’t have to suffer. If you just hit that button —“ Travis said.
“That’s not the button but okay…”
“If you listened to me, your computer would be working right now. Hit that button,” Travis said.
“You know what, Travis? I don’t need your help. Get out of here already,” Don said with frustration.
“Okay…okay. I’ll go,” Travis said walking off.
That guy has no idea what he’s talking about. Hit “that” button. Like I’m going to hit that button. I’m going to hit THIS button. That will show him, Don thought to himself.
?#*! He shouted. His entire computer crashed.
Travis walked out of the house, hearing Don yell at his computer in the background. That was way more fun than a fist fight, he thought to himself. Keep following Sim Life Chronicles to find out what happens.
