Family Time with Don Lothario | Season 14 | Episode 3 | Chapter 269
As Caiden changed into his party outfit, he realized being around family was his new favorite thing.
“Hey ole little buddy!” Don smiled as he sat down next to Travis on the couch.
“Nope. Don, I know our kids are getting married but we are not doing this,” Travis said.
“Oh come on. Just because I used to knock on the door and break in once in a while for a fight?”
“Once in a while?! Try all the time! We had to move houses because of you.”
“Come on! At least part of that was Summer’s fault,” Don said. “Oh for goodness sakes,” Travis sighed.
“You know what, I’m not even going to pretend I’m listening,” Travis said looking away.
As Jarrett entered the room, Travis spotted him. “Hey Jarrett. You used to love reading about Old Penelope Plane Wreck. Any chance you have one of those old books about it for Donny boy over here? That is… if he can read.”
“Hey man! I can read… I think.”
“Or maybe we can just send him off to go look at it.”
Don grimaced. “Maybe I should take your wife along with me,” he glared.
Overhearing, Caiden jumped in. “Don! Best behavior only!”
Don was shocked Caiden scolded him. He looked towards Travis who was still ignoring him.
“Sorry man. The old Don just likes to come out and play sometimes!”
Don stood up and smiled. “I’ll go mingle… but you’ll see, my guru: we’re going to be best friends one day.”
As Caiden wandered outside to grab some food, his siblings were all chatting on the porch. “So I’m pretty sure someone got taken by the grim reaper at my house,” Carter said.
“What?! No! That’s terrible!” Annabelle wailed as Casey could care less.
“There’s ghosts and spirits and stuff. It’s totally haunted.”
“What on earth are you going to do?! You can’t live there!”
“Nah, it’ll be fine. It’s not like they’re following me around…much,” he said coolly playing it off.
Just then, Hannah let out a scream.
“Help!! I’m on fire!”
Jamie rushed over as fast as she could. “Is Summer back somehow?” she thought fearfully.
She quickly pulled out the extinguisher to save Hannah.
She wouldn’t let history repeat itself.
As the flames dissipated, Hannah sighed. “I guess I need to go shower now. Thank you Jamie.”
On the other side of the house, Don was freaking out. “There’s a fire?! I’m outta here! These Scott’s can fend for themselves!”
Caiden walked over to comfort Jamie. “You’re a hero. You saved my mom’s life. But most importantly, how are you doing? Are you okay?” he said while stroking her cheek.
“Not really,” she said squeezing her eyes shut. “Why are there so many fires in this world?”
Just then, Carter screamed out. He was on fire too! “Oh llamas! It’s the spirits! They want to make me one of them!” he said as Annabelle freaked out.
Caiden rushed over and put the fire out as Jamie screamed, “This is too much! The fires need to end now!”
“Carter… you weren’t — serious about the spirits, were you?” Annabelle said completely paranoid now.
“Oh yes. I can smell them,” he said sticking his nose up.
“Or maybe that’s just me,” he said as he sniffed himself. What happens next?

Synopsis

Don arrives for the family’s gathering; Carter tells Annabelle about his home.

Did You Know?

  • One of the main reasons I didn’t kill Don off in Season 12 was for moments like this. I realized I’d miss a great opportunity to have the Don/Travis in-laws dynamic and I couldn’t miss that!
  • To this day, I still have no idea how Carter caught fire as he was nowhere near the flames.
