As the months went by, they fell in love with their tiny home and the life they were building together.
Buttercup would spend her days sleeping on the couch,
And rolling around in the sprinkler puddles.
Hannah loved taking care of Jarrett. While Travis was at work, she’d give him baths in the outdoor tub…
And together, they would jump in the sprinklers.
Travis and Hannah spent every moment they could together, even just to water the garden.
And every moment he could, Travis would grab Hannah’s arm and pull her in for a kiss.
It was a beautiful afternoon in Taratosa, when Hannah ran out onto the bridge across from their house.
As she looked out at the lighthouse she thought about her journey.
There was so much heartbreak. So much confusion. And so many bad choices she had made along the way. But every decision brought her here in the end. And now, standing on this bridge, she wouldn’t change a thing.
As she stood there, pondering, Travis watched her from a distance. There was one thing left to do.
He came running towards her with a smile on his face — his heart racing.
This was the perfect moment.
“Look at her standing there — she’s perfect,” Travis thought to himself.
Hannah looked at Travis with a smile. “I will never get used to this view. It gets more and more beautiful every single day.”
Travis walked over to her with his hand on his heart. “I know the feeling. It’s the feeling I have every time I look at you. Every time we’re together. I never want this feeling to go away, Hannah. This view may be stunning, but no view is more stunning than you.”
Travis dropped down onto his knee and pulled a ring from his pocket. “Hannah, I don’t ever want to spend my life without you. I can’t imagine a day without you in it. I never could. Please, make me the happiest man in the world and marry me.”
Travis looked up at her, with devotion and hope in his eyes.
As Hannah looked down at him, she put her hand to heart.
She felt her knees weaken. “Travis, in my life, I’ve never loved someone more than I love you….Yes, of course, I’ll marry you. I love you Travis.”
She took the ring and gazed at it. She’s been engaged and married twice before but this was the first time the man she loved truly wanted her as much as she wanted him.
Travis beamed as he watched Hannah hold the ring.
He stood up and stared at her smile. She was glowing.
He leaned in and gently kissed her on the lips…
Before tightly pulling her in for a passionate kiss.
Little Jarrett came running out to see what all the commotion was about.
He stood there, staring up at his dad, as Travis and Hannah told him the news.
He stared at them, his face frozen for a moment.
And then his lips parted into a giant grin. He loved Hannah and this was the best news ever!
Hannah picked Jarrett up and gave him a spin while Buttercup barked happily. They were finally going to be a family.
That night, Travis tucked Jarrett into bed and read him a bedtime story while Hannah sat knitting on the couch.
When he was done, he put down the book and gazed at Hannah.
There was nowhere he’d rather be for the rest of his life. She was perfect. Life was perfect.
And they lived happily ever after…Or so we think! What happens next?
