The sun rays were beaming over Fantasy Water Park in Oasis Springs. Back when the area was just a sprawling desert, locals were devastated about the arrival of a bright blue castle like structure. It truly had no place in the area. But, as time passed and the entire area became a vacation getaway, it just became another beloved stop for family fun and adventure. It was a daily reminder to sims everywhere that everything has it’s place, even if it’s hard to see at first.

Caiden and Jamie arrived for Travitha’s birthday with an inventory stocked full of birthday decorations. Travitha had experienced birthdays before, but this was the first one she would remember — and the first one with a regular, non-magic cake.

Jamie sighed with exasperation, as they walked around the pools. “There isn’t a single wall outside to put up decorations! Or a cake table. What are we going to do?”

“Don’t you worry, I’ve got this,” Caiden said. “Just take one deep breath and close your eyes. The magic will appear —,“ he snapped his fingers, “Like that.” With a quick excursion into build mode, he moved a few items aside and built a half wall to hold the decorations. There wasn’t a huge amount of space, but it was just enough for the display.

As they finished setting up the decorations, their phones rang. It was time for the party to begin!

“Perfect timing!” Jamie smiled in relief.

Behind her, Travitha had arrived. She swirled around into her bathing suit. “This place is amazing!” she squealed. “Thank you guys, so much!” Travitha flung her arms around Jamie and Caiden into one big family hug. “You guys are the best.”

Overjoyed, she scampered off towards the splash pad. Behind her, Hannah and Travis had arrived, along with Caiden’s siblings.

Hannah peered over at Travitha while whispering into Travis’ ear. “So…does she have any memory at all of Summer? Or the evil things that she also did as a teenager? I’m so confused about all of this. How did she even become a kid again? Caiden really hasn’t explained any of this to us.”

Travis looked at his wife and stroked her arm. “Honestly, I have no idea. Caiden said something about a reset and a magic cake? It’s all very confusing to me too. But as far as I can tell, Travitha doesn’t know anything.”

Hannah sighed deeply. Poor child, she thought. She regretted not spending more time getting to know Travitha since Caiden and Jamie decided to raise her. Given their history with Summer though, Hannah couldn’t help but feel wary. For so long, she worried that Travitha’s “reset” and supposed “missing memories” were all a rouse to make waves in the Scott house and destroy their families from the inside.

Travis kissed Hannah on the cheek and walked over to Travitha to wish her a happy birthday.

“So I hear I have another granddaughter now?” He smiled.

“I thought you already met Liberty?” Travitha said, confused. Despite how close she was with Caiden now, she had grown accustomed to the rest of the family not spending much time with her. It didn’t even bother her. She already felt so lucky just to have Jamie and Caiden in her life. “Oh wait! You mean me. You don’t have to call me that if you don’t want to. I know we haven’t really spent much time together.”

Travis leaned down to hug her. “Are you kidding me? I couldn’t be happier for you, Caiden, and Jamie. I’m proud you’re my namesake. Happy birthday, Travitha!”

Travitha leaned forward to return his hug with a giant grin plastered across her face. Just as suddenly, her lips angled downwards as a perplexed crease formed across her forehead. “Namesake?” she asked, pulling back.

Travis cleared his throat. “Oh, you know — Travitha…Travis… very similar.”

“But Caiden and Jamie didn’t name me…Summer did…”

Travis’ face turned red and flustered as he looked into Travitha’s eyes. Her eyes began to widen. It felt like a million puzzle pieces were suddenly joining together. As she stood there, all of the dreams she had been having since she could remember started racing through her mind faster than a bullet train.

Holding hands with a mannequin in Summer’s room.

Being trapped in the basement, screaming, begging to leave.

Wall to wall photos in her mom’s room of a shirtless Travis.

Shirtless Grandpa. Ewwww.

“Oh my god!” she said, with her jaw gaping. “Was my mom, like, obsessed with you or something?”

Travis squirmed as his head bobbed awkwardly from side to side. “Eh…maybe a bit,” he shrugged. The last thing he wanted was to go into full detail about Summer’s obsession with him. Travitha was still just a kid, after all. Honestly, would there ever be an appropriate time to share the story of Summer with her?

Hannah came walking over as she overheard. “Oh! You remember! That is such a relief. I am so sorry, Travitha. You don’t know how hard it’s been thinking we have to keep this a secret from you. All of the times your mom tried setting us on fire and stalking Travis. Clearly she was hiding in the bushes taking shirtless photos of him. It’s so disturbing, right? Not to mention, the way she raised you to be evil and then you poisoned half of the family with bizarre fruit when you were a teenager. It was such an ordeal! I’m just so glad we don’t have to act like this didn’t happen anymore. You’re not planning any trips to Strangerville after your party, right?”

Travitha blinked at her rapidly, with her eyes wide and her jaw dropped to the floor.

Hannah quickly looked from side to side. “Oh, so — you — didn’t — oh —,” she stuttered. “Cheesy? Is that you calling me?” she said running off nervously. How on earth do I explain to Caiden the can of worms I just spilled out here today?

Travitha looked at Travis confused. “Did I really…poison you guys?”

Travis tried his best to keep the mood upbeat. “More or less, yeah. But look. We’re all fine now. None of us are walking around like possessed zombies. You’ve gotten a second chance and from what I can see, you’re a completely different Travitha than that bitter one. And I’m sure when you become a teenager today, you won’t become that way again,” he said hesitantly. Suddenly, he realized he only met teenage Travitha. What if she became evil today and history repeated itself?

“That is so creepy,” Travitha winced as she noticed Travis’ discomfort. “No wonder you guys have —“ her voice traipsed off as she frowned.

Travis’ eyes grew solemn as he looked at her drooping eyes. There was no way this girl would become evil again, he realized. He was furious at himself for even thinking it, even if it was just for a split second. “I’m sorry for that, Travitha. There’s a very long history between Hannah, Summer, and me. It really hasn’t been fair to you that we’ve kept ourselves distant from you for so long.”

Travitha looked over Travis’ shoulder. The rest of the family was splashing happily in the sprinklers, giggling away. “Well…you’re here now,” she paused with a sigh. As she looked into Travis’ eyes, she knew she couldn’t be mad at him, or even hurt. She had a mountain of repressed memories and turmoil over Summer. How could she possibly blame anyone for suffering the same trauma? “And don’t be sorry. My mom messed me up too,” she said, trying to bring forth a reassuring smile.

Travis reached out his hand and rubbed her shoulder gently. “You’re a really great kid, you know that?” Her level of maturity and understanding completely blew him away. To this day, his son Casey still lacked this level of maturity. “Hannah? Would you come back over here for a moment?” he called out.

Hannah hesitantly walked towards them, her cheeks were still flushed with embarrassment. “My god, Travitha. I am so, so sorry. We got this new memories system recently and I’m still trying to understand how it works. I didn’t have this at all when I was a kid and I didn’t know if you’d remember your past now and then when I overheard — I just,” she frowned as her eyes welled. “I’m sorry.”

Travitha pursed her lips to the side as she nervously played with her fingers. She puffed up her cheek as she looked at Hannah. “It’s okay. Honestly, at this point, I’m so used to some secret spilling out about my past. I don’t think anything would surprise me at this point.”

Hannah looked at her with admiration. She was beyond impressed with how strong Travitha was. It took her what felt like a lifetime to have that level of confidence. Caiden and Jamie had really done an amazing job re-raising Travitha.

“Come on, my grandparents. It looks like I’ve got some candles to blow out! Mwah-ha-ha-ha!” she joked with a fake evil laugh.

Hannah and Travis chuckled as they each took one of Travitha’s hands. They glanced at each other with smiles on their faces. Despite all of the drama Summer brought to their lives, she actually did one thing right.

Naming Travitha after Travis. They truly couldn’t be prouder than to call her his namesake.
